This book was my first introduction to this author. A friend recommended her. I’m glad I decided to branch out and read one of her books. I will definitely be reading more from her.
As for the book, a little slow in the beginning but definitely kept my interest and ended with a twist!

Loren thought she met the perfect husband and father for her daughter, but has she really?? After they get married, Jack’s father dies leaving his mother to live alone. Loren invites Coralee to stay with them during her time of mourning, but then strange things start happening. Coralee’s behavior starts to drive a wedge between their marriage and Loren soon realizes that her new family secrets could kill her.
Kiersten Modglin you have done it again. I didn’t have a favorite author before, but you’re starting to change that. When I tell you “The Mother in law” had my blood boiling. Coralee pissed me off every step of the way, but Loren was an idiot from the jump. Like how could you have been hurt before and let someone in that quick, with a child involve?? Coralee played y’all like a puppet on a string and Jack was so blind to it all. To concerned about what she’s don’t for him all his life to see what she was doing right in front his face. Family really does cloud your judgement. READ IT!!! READ IT!!! READ IT!!!

Predictable. The female character was such an idiot and had no backbone…mooning over the man like a middle school girl. I finished the book because I wanted to see how it ended but honestly the book made me more angry than anything.

Worst book I ever read. Unrealistic. None of the characters are lovable or realistic. Can’t believe people like this book and someone actually published it

This book was creepy and twisted the whole time with an eerie feeling that something sinister was always just around the corner. I thought the book was a nice mix of genres as a cute romance and a darker mystery rolled into one. At times, some of the events and character reactions seemed a bit outlandish, which made me cringe, but I still enjoyed the book.

This one fell a little flat at the end for me compared to her other books. I also felt the same subject was tackled better by Mark Edwards in Here to stay.
I’ve come to expect a huge twist with this author and there wasn’t really one here. However on a positive note this has one of the most monstrous and completely deranged mother in laws that I have ever read. If two divorces are not enough to put me off marriage she certainly did
