Coralee is CRAZY! Great twists! Even though I guessed one, I didn’t see the major one coming! Kiersten Modglin is becoming one of my fav authors!
First and foremost, I love Kiersten Modglin’s books. I learned about this author through one of the books clubs that I attend. She has been gracious enough to join in our book club meetings and has answered many questions about her books and her writing process. One of the things that I love about Kiersten’s books is that they grab you right from the beginning. There is no useless prose; every word written is in furtherance of the story. This particular book for me is not my absolute favorite of hers, but it is definitely close to the top of the list. This book grabbed me and kept me reading, especially when it got closer to the end – I could not stop reading to the point where I stayed up late in order to finish this book! You could viscerally feel the viciousness of Coralee. The twists and turns of this book are never predictable (at least not for me!) My ONLY issue with this particular book, is that I felt that the relationship between Loren and Jack was a little rushed. While it stated that Jack and Loren had gone on a number of dates, I did not get to experience those dates with the characters. So I never had my heart invested in their relationship like I have in other books.

This was good. I feel like everything that I read from Kiersten Modglin will be GOOD. This was a fast paced, fun read. The narrations were great and the secrets even better. Although so far I will like nothing will top The Arrangement ! Go binge Kiersten Modglin’s books ASAP. They’re on KU.

Meh. I figured it all out before I was even halfway through. Parts of it were copied almost verbatim from The Arrangement. Compelling stories and all, but I think I’ve made a mistake reading two of her books back to back. Repetitive, predictable, and a bit try hard. Unrealistic plots and really out there twists are great on occasion, but this was a bit try hard for my liking. Kiersten Modglin may just be a one trick pony, unfortunately. It honestly pains me to say that considering how much I enjoyed The Arrangement. I refuse to believe that all of the 5 star reviews are real.
Omg I could not put this down! At first I thought it was a crazy overly attached mother situation. I spent a good chunk of the book knowing Meredith was dead until it had come out shed “eloped”. Coralee being a psychotic killer wasn’t what I was completely expecting. Killing Meredith and pretending she was alive was beyond messed up! Such a great book!!
