Hi, my name is Molly and I've been devouring audiobooks at a frankly alarming rate. And Kiersten Modglin's quick thrillers certainly enable me in that regard.
This was wild. I was happy to get more plot twists than I got in "I Said Yes" but it still didn't reach the heights of The Arrangement.
Loren is dumb. Like a stupid protagonist. Meredith was CLEARLY missing. There is no justification for still wanting to be with Jack when he continued to take Coralee's side and to act like Loren was crazy.
Coralee wanting the house was surprising - as was her manipulating Jack and Loren's relationship from the get-go (am I the only one who thought Travis' abrupt departure meant he was dead, too?). But it also felt insane and confusing. Her note at the end was unhinged and creepy (the narrator was fantastic - her scratching sounds were HORRIFYING), but also felt like I didn't understand what was happening.
But I enjoyed the ride. Though, why the hell would Loren and Jack stay married when they're technically related. Blood or no, that is just another in a long list of red flags....

This was the best book ever!! It was entertaining and suspenseful! It really could be the story of my life!!
Loved it, and I didn't even care that I guessed part of the twist. It was still THAT good.

I just don't know how I feel about this book. It was a bizarre story and everything felt off. It was like walking into a familiar room but the furniture was shifted just enough to make it uncomfortable and an not so familiar. That is how I felt the whole time I was reading. What I couldn't tell is if that was the intention of the author or not.
None of the characters are very likable, so I didn't know who to root for but I damn sure knew one to root against and that was the batshit crazy MIL!
