I thoroughly enjoyed this one at the start, but it definitely started to slow down a bit around the 3/4 mark. I do think the ending works, but I would have liked for it to have been tied into the earlier sections a little more. As is, it felt a little out of left-field, rather than a natural progression of what the characters experienced.

It also felt like the blurb set up promises that didn't really happen in the book. Uncharles doesn't run away, and he doesn't flee, and he spends the vast majority of the story in denial. Seeing him struggling and contending with that was done subtlety, but well-- but it doesn't match what the blurb promises

Maybe the real treasure was the god we killed along the way <3

Very silly but also very heartfelt in a Terry Pratchett sort of way. If you think the first ~30pages are tiresome, this is not the book for you, but if you think theyre hilarious, great news because the rest of the book is more of the same.
