Nothing revolutionary but such a fun book to pull you out of a reading slump
Honestly so cheesy, but a fun distraction during 3rd and 4th trimesters haha. Will probably never think about this book again but I enjoyed it while it lasted!

This was such a cute read. I got it thru Afterlight and I remember I was extremely exited. This definitely is a hit for me. Loved the story and how it was set up. I loved that is about a bookstagramer and that feels so cool. The whole I might have missed my happily ever after while falling for someone new is cute. And definitely entertaining

I read the first book of this series (Set on You) and it just didn't resonate with me. I appreciated the representation and liked the characters, but I just couldn't relate to Crystal; her challenges with body positivity were interesting and often relatable, but I had a tough time with her job. Neither fitness nor being an influencer is something that I easily understand or can relate to. When book 2 came out, I hesitated and didn't buy it.
Enter Libby to the rescue, several years later! I mostly read this book because the concept of book 3 excited me (as a rural girlie who grew up in a fishing town, I LIVE for books set in harbour towns). And it was so worth it! Tara is still an influencer, but on a smaller scale (less viral) and also in a way that is more easily understandable for me: she's on Booktok/Bookstagram. I also related to her romanticizing her interactions with everybody's and then inevitably being disappointed by them.
I really enjoyed this one! I liked the narrative of Tara wrestling with maybe being a bit "too much" while also steadfastly refusing to let any of these guys call her "crazy," and appreciate the author for engaging in this discourse. Words like "crazy" and "insane" get thrown around too often in ways that are not okay. As a known hater of second-chance romance, I was wary of the plot (Tara trying to re-connect with all of her exes to see if she might be able to rekindle a flame) but ended up LOVING the ending. I love it a little too much when the fmc is like "yeah he barely likes me, he definitely isn't into me like that" but it's so clear that this man is down bad™️ for her. I am just a girl, okay? I'm here for the angst and the pining and the dramatic irony.
Also, shoutout to Daniel for being kind of cool. In the end he reminded me a lot of one of my best friends who I've know since we were kids (who I adore despite the fact that he thinks orange skittles are better than green skittles)

1.5 stars, with the only reason I didn’t DNF it being the MMC did have some potential. Biggest red flag was the FMC saying she loves the accidental pregnancy trope.
