Amy Lea did not disappoint with this book (not that I thought she would after reading Set On You), but she has officially become one of my favorite authors.

Cute book but nothing new. Definitely good if you’re looking for a familiar feeling reliable rom com.

4.5 stars! I've been on a roll with adult contemporary romances lately. Normally I have to read a bunch of mediocre ones to find a diamond in the rough, but the last bunch that I've read have been great, this one included!

It follows the story of book review influencer Tara who sets out on a quest to reconnect with her exes to determine what went wrong, all with the help of her new roommate, Trevor. The chemistry between Tara and Trevor was A+, the slow burn of their romance was delish (I could honestly see this being *too* slow for some), and I loved how he didn't try to change her "clingy" ways (according to her exes), loving her for her. I also loved how meta this was, with Tara referencing multiple book tropes and bringing them into conversation with other characters, including Trevor.

The only thing bringing this down from a full 5 stars is that I wish we had a little more time with their relationship together. That epilogue though...STINKING CUTE! UGH!!!

I easily would have read this in one sitting had I had the chance. Highly recommended for fans of slow-burn romance and the room-mance trope.

This was super cute. I thought Tara was insane and over-the-top but in a really delightful way. I think I'd enjoy being her friend.

I liked Trevor and I thought his emotional journey was both sweet and realistic, though I did get a little annoyed by him stringing Tara along. It was obvious that he liked her (to the reader) but some of the things he said to her were definitely open to the interpretation of people (Tara) who thought he didn't. So I think the ultimate denouement was a little surprising to me. Like Ali Hazelwood's novels (my peak for contemporary romance) I want some OBVIOUS pining that's so potent it HURTS.

But overall this was really sweet. I'll probably read more of Lea's novels. I liked that Tara was unapologetically herself and didn't change for anyone (I too am an extra romance girly).

I don't see myself reading this book again, but I did have fun reading it.

3.5 Stars
Tara was such a fun character, she was definitely a bit cringe-y at times but I feel like we've all been there lol. I think I liked her sister Crystal's story a bit more (Set on You) but this was a cute follow up. I loved the friendship between Tara and Trevor but I'm just unsure about the chemistry between them. I also didn't really enjoy how it went from super slow burn to the complete opposite so quickly, but that being said, I still cried happy tears. The epilogue kind of took away from the book a bit for me, Tara has always been obsessed with the idea of love that I wish she didn't have such a traditional happy ending. I do like Amy Lea's writing though and will definitely be picking up Mel's story!
