It reads like a mediocre wattpad book. The characters fell flat and trope-y, so much unnecessary dialogue and scenes, and a hot MMC does not equal chemistry - it actually has to be written in. Started skimming a lot halfway through just to finish the story.

Oh i am so bummed about this. This book was so hyped up and I was expecting something amazing.
Unfortunately, I was so let down. This book was trying SO hard to be a deep, meaningful, eye opening story, when in reality it was a shallow and lame attempt. Our main character is absolutely ridiculous. She is so incredibly immature and she just bothered me the entire time.
I felt no connection between her and the love interest at all. She was simply too immature and it felt so forced. Also all of the forced book talk about tropes and love stories got so incredibly redundant and annoying. I am so sad :(

I really enjoyed Amy Lea's debut, Set On You and I'm happy to say, I enjoyed Exes & O's even more!
Tara is a romance loving Bookstagramer, who has not had the best luck when it comes to her own love story. She's starting to move on from her broken engagement by finally moving out of her sister's apartment and into a new apartment with a relative stranger. And their meet cute is anything but cute! Tara decides her love will be a second chance romance, one of her favorite tropes. She makes a list of her ex-boyfriends and with the help of her new roommate, Trevor, she tracks them down and hopes for her happily ever after! But as her list dwindles, she also has to fight her ever growing feelings for her commitment -phobia roommate.
I loved both Tara and Trevor and watching their friendship develop. Tara went through a lot and Trevor was there every step of the way. I enjoyed seeing Trevor opening up to Tara and growing into his own "hero." Trevor is true book boyfriend material and now I'm left wondering where my Trevor is!!
I enjoyed the banter, the slow-burn and character growth. And any book that throws in some great Tangled references is chef's kiss to me! I'm definitely a fan of Amy's writing and look forward to future works from her!
Would I recommend? Yes!

4.5 ⭐️! I love a well-written, fun, laugh out loud rom com, and Amy Lea delivered yet again. The banter, the palpable tension and pining, and all of the references just made my entire day. I truly can’t wait for the final book, and I might just have to go buy the trilogy
Exes and O’s by Amy Lea is the second book in the Influencer series but can stand alone. I haven’t had the chance to read book 1 (Set on You) but I will be after reading this one. All in all, I thought this was really cute. It’s fun, quirky, and made me laugh a lot. The only thing that got a little old was how clingy Tara was. I’m all for reading about different types of characters and while I loved her for being unapologetic with her feelings some of it did make me cringe a little. Perhaps its because I don’t consider myself clingy like she was, and I’ve seen it in real time with other people- it’s not pretty. But because this is fiction and the book has a good message overall I was able to look past it.
If you’re a fan of the roommates-to-lovers trope and enjoy a book that will genuinely make you laugh then I recommend this one! I know that the MC won’t be everyone’s favorite but she does have a big heart which truly shines on the pages. I can’t wait to read more from the author.
