I do not understand how Harrow was able to write such a compelling story which such an interesting world in just 30 pages but damn did she do it. I had no expectations going in except for the vauge praise I had heard and was blown away

This one really blew me away. Harrow's writing doesn't always do it for me, but she was in prime form here. This is such a brutal, gruesome story, and I felt nearly every word all the way down in my bones. It's so immersive and propulsive, and it made me feel so much. It's really quite stellar.
