I like that we speak about mental illnesses in this book, and how hard is for the patient and his family and loved ones. The mental institution should be not shamed also seeking help and treatment should be not taboo. Even when this book was the saddest jet in Heartstoper it's still good. Can't wait for more.

I've yet to see a book properly handle the subject of (possible trigger)
eating disorders and mental illness among young men
with the level of tact and care that's required when discussing the topic. All this in Oseman's lovely drawing style and incredibly real characterization. Cannot recommend this book enough to those who are prepared to read it!

If only I could urge every single person to read Heartstopper. These graphic novels are like warm hugs. I devoured the first four volumes and am eagerly anticipating the fifth. What Alice Oseman did is nothing short of incredible. She created a world that so beautifully reflects the one we live in, but she also created this little bubble where these characters are encouraged to be who they are and that is something supremely special.

Being a teenager is hard and it is even harder still when you feel like you have to hide who you really are in order to just survive. Alice expertly crafts a support group for each of her characters but she also inserts stress and drama and yearning and the understanding that sometimes, love isn't enough. Sometimes, we need to do the hard work for ourselves and no one else, despite how many people we have in our corner. And that's scary to think about, but also a bit freeing, no? To think that we can do the hard work, fail miserably, and know that we always have a soft place to land with those who love us.

Everyone needs to read these.

this graphic novel was brilliant

Oseman did a fantastic job with both Nick and Charlie as well as the mental health aspect of the book.

I would say this graphic novel is a short comforting read, good for people who may be struggling with mental health and just need cute graphic novel with representation and accurate mental health depictions.

This book may be triggering so be mindful of this while going into this graphic novel

Overall, this book is a quick read that is really enjoyable

Urgh, I just freaking love this series! Alice does an exceptional job at covering mental illnesses in a relationship and how it’s not possible to save someone. I wish I had read this book when I was 12 to learn about that. I loved how supportive Nick’s mom was and how she talked to him about it. And I just love Tori! And everyone else! If you haven’t read this series yet, what are you even doing with your life?!
