I was very disappointed by this book because I’ve been reading a lot of ASOFAI recently and Martin and an amazing author. I remember reading Gratz’s Grenade and I thought the storyline was amazing. Same thing is true for Ground Zero, but it’s written poorly. I almost stopped reading. I could predict the ending half way through the book. I enjoyed it, but I think I could have written better.

Brandon is 9 when he becomes trapped when a plane hits the Twin Towers on 9/11. Separated from his dad by fire, he relies on the aid of strangers to try and survive.

Years later, Reshmina, an 11 year old, has never known life without the Americans and the Taliban fighting, helps an injured soldier despite the objections of her twin brother.

I listened to this book as an audiobook. I had a difficult time enjoying the male narrator. The volume of his narration and his voices as character varied IMMENSELY and I found myself constantly having to turn the volume up and down to adjust. It’s not terrible but got frustrating towards the end.
