This is one of those situations where I saw the movie first then read the book. If you haven’t consumed either yet, I suggest that order. I enjoyed the movie and found that the true story of the book enhanced it dramatically. If I had read first and then seen the film I believe the film would have seemed less-than. Buying the rest of the series today so don’t call me.…

This was soo good! It was even better than the movie and I have so many questions. If you liked one or the other; in my opinion they go together so well.
Definitely continuing with the series someday, Area X is a super weird, otherworldly place. I bet it still has many parts to be explored.

I'm surprised how different it is from the movie. I have mixed about the stream-of-consciousness passages, but overall I liked it. But I can't help but think of how the characters and their motivations were done so much better in the movie.

This is a masterful piece of science fiction. Completely gripping from the first word until the last. I can’t help but think that this book was somehow written just for me, which only adds to the mysterious and uncanny themes in it. I am delighted to realize that there are more books in this series but I also loved this so much as a stand alone novel that, at the very least, I’m gonna let this one sit for a while before I pick up the sequel.
There are so many questions left at the end of the novel but the speculation is half the fun- and I am saying this as someone who can often be very frustrated by vagueness and mysteries left at the end of stories. I felt satisfied while also enjoying still having elements to speculate upon bouncing around in my head.
The sci-fi and the horror is just spectacular. Brilliant and chilling concepts are thrown at you every few pages. I was worried that such a vast and intriguing premise was being set up at the start that the story wouldn’t be able to properly explore it, but I think it very much did it’s concept justice. The writing style was also very enjoyable.
All in all an amazing experience. Would greatly recommend, not only to sci-fi fans, but to anybody. Wow. Just wow.

The Author's writing itself was very good, I just couldn't connect to the story very much. It didn't reveal as many answers to the plot as I was hoping. Perhaps that was the point, but it wasn't my cup of tea. I'm still glad I read it, though. I wouldn't never have read something like this without the recommendation.
