I read this because it’s one of my favorite movies and I forgot it was based off a book until a guy I sat next to on a bus was reading it

The book is very different from the movie, but it tells its events in an equally interesting way. my favorite portrayal of an unreliable narrator + I love extensive descriptions of tidepools

This book was bizarre and intriguing. I never knew what was going to happen next, but never really sure what was going on, either. I think this will be the perfect book for a very specific person, and that person was not me. It wasn't bad by any means. The writing was fantastic! The characters were so interesting and full of surprises. The plot line just wasn't for me. Glad I read it though.

This book had to have been the biggest “what did I just read?” I’ve read in a long time. I picked up this book after seeing clips of the movie and not once did I know where the story was going to go and I have my theories for the next book but even then I think they will turn out wrong. Highly recommend this book even if the pacing isn’t entirely there.
