Just what I needed to start off the season. When books involve plots about being a fan of books, I'm hooked. Throw in some holiday ambiance, treats and a winter storm and I'm holiday-hooked.
Abi and Dov are thrown together in unusual circumstances when they aim to finish a beloved book series started by Dov's grandmother. Abi is the editor who comes to call on the famous D.B. Zeigler and runs into a rather unhappy Dov instead.
Dov eventually shares that D.B. has passed but she wanted Dov to finish the last book in her beloved series that featured recipes that she really made. Dov isn't sure where to start...honor his grandmother by making all her honored recipes for Hanukkah, start writing or just sit and grieve.
Abi steps into action volunteering to help Dov finish the last book and soon they are in forced proximity in the charming brownstone of the famous author herself baking, writing, getting snowed in, rescuing a cute dog and getting lost in the escape of the moment with each other.
The story is cozy, the voice actors are entertaining and I appreciated Hanukkah as a part of the story as a representation of the various holidays found in this season.
This is a sweet romance where the only spice is in the baked goods. Like a wonderful hug for just this time of year, give this one a listen when you are in danger of getting caught up in the business of the season.

A wonderful holiday romance where two characters grow in their own way and find love during the holidays through a fun, small town holiday decoration competition! Theo Gardner is a top tier book boyfriend!!!!!
Dov’s beloved grandmother, famous mystery novelist D. B. Ziegler passes away before she can finish the final book of her 26 book series. He promises to help finish it for it readers, but when deadlines come and go, he’s overwhelmed and his grief takes over. As soon as a junior editor shows up at his house to help his grandma with writers block, he knows he has to confess her passing and beg for help.
Such a super cute Hanukkah romance. Both characters were absolutely sweet and this clean romance was absolutely full of warm fuzzies from start to finish.
Tropes: Holiday Romance
