These books are like popcorn. Alas for me, someone else has the next few checked out from my library, so the binge dies here.

I am SO glad that you could just jump back into things cos my knowledge of book 3..or any book ...yikes, it was shaky at best..
Her hidden past.
I was all whaat?
She is Fae? Huh, did not remember that, but good to know. Lol, yes it was like the book was filled with new secrets and I never felt like I missed anything cos I could just read and be surprised.
She is a grave witch, ok that I did remember. She can talk to the dead. Yup.
Her Boyfriend is death, I did not really like him. (damn it, *reading old review from 4 years back, I used to have a crush on him! Woe is me*
Falin, some guy sent to spy on her is hot. (damn it! I used to think he was just a pretty boy according to that last review)
I obviously went from Team Death to Team Falin. *shrugs* It happens. Since all I remember of any of them is from this book.
Oh I forgot, the actual storyline. A bad drug is causing deaths. She is on the case. The Fae wants her to pick a court. A friend is getting married. Her dad has plans. Something was always happening and then it ended and I need more...a bit quicker this time hopefully.

You know that series that you pick back up after a while, worried you've forgotten something, only to discover you're just meeting some old friends? Yeah, I love these books and this one is no exception.
I think I particularly like the way Ms. Price handles faerie lore. Everyone is so careful not to thank anyone else, because that implies debt and in this world, you'd need to pay up. The ever-changing doors in Faerie are also a favorite. I like the idea that the fae are only around because people believe in fairy tales and folklore, and without that belief, they'd cease to exist.
I enjoy the fact that this is not a love story. The interests are there and I can get behind good love story, but it doesn't always have to be that way to be worth reading. It's such a background thing compared to the murderous political game that is afoot. I'm so glad I've already ordered the next book.

I really missed Alex Craft, which is not to AT ALL add to the ridiculousness of this site in pressuring the author to fulfill people's whims. I'm grateful we get to read author's stories and creativity but they owe me nothing. I have been rather disgusted over the years reading the comments on this series on goodreads.
That said.
I really enjoyed this book that took us back into Alex's world. The mystery was obvious from as soon as we were told it, but I did not care. I wanted to descend back into the world of fairie and grave magic and everything in between. May be fast food, but I'm into it.

This is such a good series. The only reason it took me so long to read it was because it was my work bag book and I only read it when it was quiet at work. Not many days like that so it took a bit of time. I got to savor the story though by being forced to take my time.
This is such a neat world that Kalayna Price has created for Alex Craft and her friends and family. It's very good urban fantasy, dark quite a lot of the time but it's not depressing dark. It's action dark. I like the descriptions of the way Alex does her necromancy. I can almost feel the cold.
I can definitely recommend this book, series and author.

Lost interest and didn't finish. I'm sure it was fine. Just wasn't feeling it anymore.
This is urban fantasy with a little tiny bit of romance built in. No sex, no cliffhanger. A little violence but no whereNervous_Nellie_100 near what I’ve reviewed in the past. This is not a standalone, I would recommend reading 1-3 before tackling this #4.
I love Alex Craft. I love her world. From the beginning to where we are now, she has evolved and owned her changes. It’s incredible the places she’s taken me. Shadow court, Winter court etc… the Fae can really manipulate. They can’t lie, but they are artists when it comes to avoidance.
Alex has two men she has interest in and neither one are an ideal match. Is this a love triangle kind of book? Eh…..not exactly. But it’s good! I like these kinds of books as they keep me thinking. I told the author that she is such a good writer that I was on Team Death when I started the book, kinda switched to Team Falin about midway through and then a new character was introduced. Whoa. Did I say I love this series?
If you haven’t tried this series, please try it. The twists and turns that this book churns out keeps my eyes plastered on the pages. The well written characters keep me coming back.
