First off, Hero deserved better. I do not ship Claudio/Hero. That's toxic as f*ck.

But regarding the rest of the play, it's pretty awesome and one of Shakespeare's best. This has a witty woman and man, going toe to toe with one another in a battle of wits. Beatrice and Benedicks' dialogue is entertaining to read. Love every scene they had together. Unlike, Taming of the Shrew, which is undefendable in modern eyes, it has a fun wittiness about it while Shrew it was pure abuse.

I felt the characters (for the most part) were pretty lovable and you do want most of them to have a happy ending. (But I stand by that Hero should have not forgiven Claudio and found someone better. He only gives a sh*t about her until he learns the whole thing was a hoax)

All, in all it's a cute, funny, and witty play and I can see why it's a favorite among Shakespeare fans. I say if you are interested in Shakespeare, you should give this a look.
