Found this tucked away in the shelves here in New Belgrade. My reading plans for the holiday ran aground after Rorty. I needed the Bard about now, though in full disclosure I needed more Beatrice than this afforded. All the classic conceits are on display otherwise: there's a masked ball and maladaptive bastards. There is likely more eavesdropping than at a security conference and just as many hollow speeches pledging solidarity and offering homage to dark matters past.
There was a star danced, and under that was I born
Thus I laughed and marveled and all the while harbored hopes for a Caliban to thwart surveillance capitalism and offer a return to the Fallen Atlantis.

i LOVE this one. love love love. i know that maybe you aren't meant to like benedick and beatrice together but they are PERFECT - "i love you with so much of my heart that none is left to protest" "i love nothing in the world so much as you - is not that strange" and benedick's "I will live in your heart, die in your lap, and be buried in your eyes—and, what's more, I will go with you to your uncle's" like GODDDDDD. i love that soooooo much. and the modern version with catherine tate and david tennant is AMAZING.

I didn't like Claudio at all. And I wasn't too fond of Leonato because of how they both treated Hero. I really like Benedict and Beatrice! So far my favorite of the Shakespeare's books because it isn't a Tragedy!
