the book was full of good useful information about abortions and explained through the lives of women who need or want one.

what i didn’t love is that the stories are told backward throughout the day. it was a good spin but i think the book might’ve been better if it were told differently.
the other part i didn’t love is how many characters there were. it was hard to keep everyone straight with what story was being told about them and how they all ended up in the women’s health clinic that day.

even though the story was told backward making it difficult to keep characters straight, it did unveil really nicely. you don’t get the shock that you might’ve at the end but seeing where it all started and came together for each character was also a good ending as well.

Wow wow wow this book covers some important topics, and so many characters’ unique stories… SO well done.
(Bonus points for taking place in Mississippi and tidbits of ole miss!!)

I didn’t like reading back In time at first but it I think I understand why the author did it. Crazy reading this in the day and age were women still have to fight so hard for the rights to their own body

Not Picoult’s best. While this story definitely illuminated hard hitting topics like abortion, religion, race and gun violence; I didn’t like the structure of the story. When it works backwards the details become repetitive and confusing. So many of the same actions and dialogues were repeated.

A deeply thought-provoking story, full of different perspectives of the characters centred on a hostage situation in an abortion centre.

Very engaging.

This is one of those books that ruined the next few books I read because almost nothing is as good. Jodi Picoult said what needed to be said without explicitly saying anything, as always. An emotional, riveting, eye-opening, and norm-defying page turner. Also, your jaw will be on the floor after you finish the final chapter.

I adore Jodi’s writing until this book. It was told in a backwards time lapse and it kind of made it hard to read. I didn’t read it all but made it 130 pages before I read the epilogue. Some interesting information, overall not a good read for me.
