Damn, this was good. The structure (each chapter a prior hour) was brilliant. And I'm impressed with how brilliantly it was done. This was intense, but impactful and important.

I usually like Jodi Picoult books- this one, however, not as much- it took me awhile to get that we started with the incident and worked backwards and forwards...tough issue but I liked how she developed her characters in this book.

I am marking this as finished as I listened to most of it and I’m not willing to dnf. But this book was just so hard to get through. I couldn’t care any less about the story or the characters. There were so many ‘main’ characters and the POV was changing all the time, and this reverse chronology made it even harder to know/care about what was going on with who. Perhaps it was harder to keep track of everyone because I listened to it. But nether the less I did not care about any characters story line and could not even tell you anyone’s story. I usually like Jodi’s books, but not this one.

Not my fav, the flow if the story had promise but didn't work for me. I might have liked this better as a read v audio.

Engaging story dealing sensibly with the complexities and tensions in how abortion is viewed in a southern US state. Multiple well drawn characters. The story is a bit tricky to follow as each chapter is an hour earlier than the previous, so you have to remember how it progressed. The plot twists were a bit obvious.

An abortion clinic in Mississippi is the setting for this story; a gunman enters the clinic killing and injuring employees and patients as he plays out revenge for his daughter’s abortion. Themes of what these clinics deal with as the attempt to provide women their legal right to abortion while in the face of constant harassment from the “pro life” protesters. The author takes us into the minds and stories of characters on both sides of this issue.
