the bleakest book I’ve read in a while but super interesting

SUCH an important read. At times a little dense, but overall I would still deem it very accessible.

We have a responsibility as human beings to be aware of every form of discrimination in society and do something about it.

That sexism has been allowed to permeate almost every level of society without larger scale resistance speaks to the amount of work that still needs to be done.

I find it interesting that the manosphere and the alt right have so much in common in that if there is any form of discrimination in society, you will find the ideology of said discrimination repeatedly and robustly supported by these groups.

Our response as people who are against discrimination must not be limited to any form. My eyes have just been opened to sexism and toxic masculinity, but the sad thing I realized as I read this book was the parallels to racism. While I was shocked to read about the unique and perverse ways women face discrimination, I couldn’t help but realize that I have seen this all before.

We must be united in our response to every type of discrimination in society. Shit, the alt right and manosphere are already united in discriminating against virtually everyone else. But we are greater, more powerful, and we can win if we work together.

A world within which everyone supports each other and works towards a greater good will ALWAYS be better than a world within which it is ok to discriminate.

Well researched and cited. A difficult read, but important.
