SO GOOD ! i really enjoyed this book. it’s so action packed and i love a good revenge arc ! i could definitely see “the game of thrones meets the gladiator” vibes but i also got a little black panther too ! in terms of how both tau and t’challa become hyper fixated on exacting revenge after losing somebody.

i will say i feel like some parts were paced kinda slow. particularly during training. i also wish there was more descriptive imagery so i could better picture this world and these characters in my mind.

aside from that, this book was so great. tau is one scary motherfucker frfr ! what a character !!! can’t wait to read book 2 !

Wow just amazing !!!! I am at a lost for words because the pain the stress the vengeance the PAIN!! Like this was whiplash my boy TAU can’t catch a break I’m so excited for book 2

The pacing of this story is incredible. It begins with great action and never really stops until the final pages. Tao is an unforgettable protagonist, and his journey is incredibly told. The worldbuilding and magic system are well thought out and unlike any I've seen in other books. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. I can't overstate how much I recommend this book to anyone who loves high fantasy.
