Just comparing the Hardy boy’s first mystery compared to Nancy Drew, it is rather disappointing. Their dad, a private detective, has most of the answers and does most of the interesting parts of the crime solving. The main strength of the boys is their connections to other people in town and at this point there isn’t a clear difference between the two boys.
