I loved this book. The world and concepts brought up were amazing and detailed and fun. I was cheering with the crowd at some parts and my heart was hammering and I was trying to read faster at many others. I had somewhat figured what would happen at the end but not to the full extent that it played out. I am really excited to see where this adventure continues to.

I'll be writing/posting my full review closer to the release date, but I will say this was a LOT of fun to read and I found myself totally immersed in this world! Very exciting, great characters, and the writing is solid!
There wasn't as much physical game play/game action as I wished there was. There is quite a bit of talking about the game (Warcross) but I desperately wish there was more time focused on the time inside Warcross.
Also, the villian/evil plot twist was predictable af. I called it a little over a third into the novel.
This is probably ~slightlyyy~ closer to a 4 star read for me, but I FLEW through it and had a blast reading it!

I was going to give 4 stars up until the last 5-10% of the book which btw was so good. Definitely going to read the sequel when it comes out.

I will read the next book as I feel like I was interested enough to find out what happens next! It isn’t even clear who the real “bad” guy is.

8.75/10 - this had the kind of premise I WAS YEARNING SO DEEPLY FOR… I am OBSESSED, and I was so engrossed I did nothing but read today. The premise is PERFECT sf romance with gaming, Asian representation, tech/cyberpunk vibes, urban & fantasy worlds
