If I could give this book a thousand stars I would but that's not possible so I'll just give it my heart and soul instead.

LILA AND NOVA! NOVA AND HIS FLOWER CHILD! OH, THEY HAVE MY HEART AND SOUL AND THEN SOME!

They've become my new favorite couple in the fallen. The first quarter of this book was so beautifully written, we see this friendship between them develop that is pure and full of unconditional love from the start. I was a bit hesitant about getting into this book considering that Lila is the one initially pining after Nova but that only for a short period of time and I understood completely why she had the moment when she watched Nova fuck another girl. She's wanted him for so long in that way and I guess she was willing to have any piece of him she got, even if it was just by watching with someone else. Gladly, the pining over him lasted only a few chapters before the script is flipped and he's the one regretting what he did and pining after her. Watching Nova come to terms with his feelings for her and then chase after her was so fucking satisfying and once they actually get together it feels so natural. I think one of the reasons they've become my favorite couple in the series is because they feel the most real in a way, these two people who know each other so well and are grappling with the shifts in their relationship as even bigger shit begins to happen around them is just incredible.

Also the smut hit like...they really had everything and that scene where Lila defends Nova from the woman who took advantage of him is EVERYTHING! JUST EVERYTHING! I love this couple so much, its actually crazy.

I said I didn’t know if I would love any couple more than HR and Lion but Nova and Lila are so close that if you ask me to choose between the couples I would rather stop breathing than choosing. Oh my god. Nova was hot and it was clear that he knew what to do with a woman’s body but seeing the connection he shared with his flower child was so amazing. Those two were two pieces of the same soul and I loved every single moment and detail between those two. And Lila, how powerful are all the biker babes of this series, I loved them so much.

I honestly had no idea what to expect with Nova and Lila. I just knew Nova was the playboy that would never settle down and Lila was the woman that was lusting after him. They had a lot more history than I thought, starting when they were just kids.

Nova was always the jokester and knew he was good looking, but it was so refreshing to see a whole other side to him that we didn’t get to see in the other books. He truly has a heart of gold and truly cares for his family and Lila. He really does deserve love.

You would think Lila would have given up after getting shut down by Nova one too many times, but I’m so glad she didn’t. Nova just had to get his head out of his ass. They both had a connection they just couldn’t deny any longer. It just took him a whole lot longer to realize it.

I love the Fallen family! ❤️

4.5 Stars!!
Oh this book! Lila’s dramatic life had me hooked from the beginning. I cried at her loss of family, her little self trying to find a place with loved ones in the world. I loved the Booths, and I knew that they all were deserving of each other’s love. While I had a great time devouring this story, there are a few things that I think could’ve made this a 5 star read for me...

1. I wish Darling would’ve bridged the gap that it was that all of a sudden Lila has some great plan, and desire, to bring down the Ventura’s herself. Only because of a brief encounter with Irina and suddenly she has this great plan to avenge everybody. It was a bit of a leap for me.

2. Lila giving Nova a chase; she was too easy for how he treated her and how much of a man whore he was. The whole story was like Lila just waiting for Nova to get his shit together. I wish that she would’ve made it difficult for him at some point because she really is a strong character that deserves better than what he was allowing himself to give her.

3. The breakup scene was a little unexpected, and that felt lackluster. Lila was in trouble the entire time, her being chased through the woods being the end all for how good she was to Nova, how she was his everything, was a little underwhelming. I was hoping for maybe something that would qualify as a legit reason, not an excuse for Nova to guilt himself into letting the best thing he had in his life go.

4. The evidence against Irina should’ve been fleshed out more. A link on a website to bring down a woman that’s played a part in being a thorn in The Fallen’s side for two whole ass books felt like an easy, non defined way out. There should’ve been more damning evidence, or at least an expansion of what was provided.

Even without those “problems” I still really enjoyed Lila and Nova’s story. I hope we get an inside look when they get pregnant (after what Nova went through with his abusive therapist). Maybe we’ll get more about that in the next book *fingers crossed*

Ummmm… did I finally find a HOT friends to lovers book? Hmmmm… I DID! Why, oh why, is it so hard to find a a steamy friends to lovers book?? I just don’t understand it.

Anyways, this relationship was exactly what I was looking for. I love love love when the player realizes how they might loose the one in front of them all along do you him being an idiot. While I loved Nova, his apprehension to Lila made me want to ring his neck. Because Lila is GREAT! Like she was just such a loyal good friend, and in my head she looks so cool, and I loved it .

Her and Nova were hot, and I loved the plot story. I definitely was interested in this story more compared to the other books because I love a good undercover stitch

Of course you need to read this

Wow this book made me emotional. Age gap isn’t a trope I normally reach for but it really worked for me in this one. I adored this love story and can picture myself rereading this in the future

I gotta admit, I was scared to read Nova and Lila's story. I actually put it off for months because I didn't want to have my heart broken by Nova. Totally expecting the worst, I decided to take the plunge because I did a recent reread of Z and Lou's story and wanted to get back into the Fallen world. I'm glad I did. While Nova certainly didn't treat Lila right once she reached adulthood and expressed her feelings for him, it wasn't near as bad as the cold-hearted version I had built it up to be in my head. Not to downplay his antics, because he was a jerk, but understanding his underlying issues with cocky self-confidence versus a very skewed self-worth, I was able to get past his initial rejection and subsequent mistreatment of her. He truly thought he didn't deserve her. Lila was tough, and I admired the heck outta her. They had a bond forged in tragedy from a very early age, much like Lou and Zeus, and as it finally blossomed, it was a sight to behold. And please, I really want a Dane story sometime!
