Overall a good book that I would recommend but a warning as it does get very dark. Though I did have some issues with it. I guessed the serial killer within the first 100 pages which took away from the big reveal. I felt the book was maybe 50 pages too long and dragged in some places. I also didn't like how Jess seemed to forget about her daughter for 75% of the book. With all of that to say, it was a very easy book to read and found myself binging the last 150 pages in one sitting.

Wow, this is an amazing and well written, debut police procedural/thriller. Shocking, dark, gritty, gory and full of suspense. Not for the faint-hearted! I can't wait for the next book!

I went into this already knowing who the killer was because I accidentally read Book 3 first, not knowing it was part of a series but it still blew my mind anyway.

I had some confusion about how which deaths there were referring to and most importantly, how Jessica Ambrose fit into the bigger picture a few times but generally, the writing was good and the story very suspenseful it kept me turning the pages quickly.

The ending was quite shocking and now I am invested in this series to know how everything came about.
