The writing will leave you breathless. Some passages read like poetry and they flow in a most striking way. At one point, about 2/3 of the way, I felt a bit like the story needed to go somewhere but it was brief and then I got caught up in the narrator’s voice again. Don’t expect plot. But leave yourself open to storytelling.

I loved this book. At first, the slow pacing threw me off - but when I let the book invite me into its rhythm I was captivated. I have a feeling it’ll be my favorite read of the year.

A coming of age story that explores the small Irish town’s relationship as electricity is connected. Took awhile to get into but the story is gentle and sweet and nicely written.
