Having read her other books I wasn't surprised by Flynn's darkness this time. She is an excellent writer and I had to tear myself away from reading when there was something else I had to do. Loved it.

I don't know exactly what to think of the this book. It was interesting, with good writing and plot twists but I didn't quite understand the ending...the same with Gone Girl. I'm reading Sharp Objects next, so I guess we will see if this is a continuing trait of this writer.
Solid thriller, I like Gillian Flynn's writing so that works for me. The ending, for me, left much to be desired......but idk maybe it works for you
the title doesn't lie. this book is bleak to the extent that reading it was a bad experience

I’m still trying to figure out my thoughts on this one. It’s a little disturbing and crimes to children. And a bit dark. But well written. Would I recommend it yes.
