4.5 stars, rounded up. I was a little wary of a big fat book about witches being too kitschy or too sci-fi or something, but instead, I loved it. It was a tad long and there were some parts where the plot slowed, but there were enough twists and turns to pick back up again. I borrowed my copy from the library, but found myself wanting to highlight lines or passages that were really well-written. I'm not sure this cracked my Favorite Books of All-Time list (it's quite short), but it was a really nice change of pace from recent reads and I only wish I had read this when it debuted in ~sp0oky season~!

I didn’t love this as much as Ten Thousand Doors, but still fell deeply in love with the sisters and the Sisters!! I think part one of the story was the hardest to get through since it took me a while to understand the pacing and switching of character perspectives. Overall I did enjoy it, but I needed to push through the beginning until it really got into a good groove.
