I had a little bit of trouble getting into this book but once I did, I couldn't put it down! I recommend it to anyone. Elliot was an extremely likeable character, sweet and loving. Karen's logic seemed flawed to me, but I get why she did it.

I don't want to give away any spoilers so good read it yourself!

I was given this book for an honest review. This is my favorite Morgan Parker book to date! I absolutely loved it from start to finish. I was hooked immediately and could not put the book down. It is well written and the characters are very well developed. The dialogue is authentic and tangible. I felt as though I were watching the story unfold before my eyes as it was easy to follow and connect with. Elena is dealing with the loss of her mother and the fact that her father has basically stopped living. Eliot is trying to grasp the weight of Karen’s deathbed confession and what the truth really is. He has essentially shut himself off from the world and doesn’t even realize what is going on with his daughter. He meets Veronica when she delivers an interesting package to his home that is meant for his daughter. The reader is then taken through the journey of grief and overcoming loss. The book is absolutely amazing and honest. The love that unfolds from the characters and the lessons of life it teaches are beautifully composed. This is one of my top picks for the year! I truly loved this book!

How do you react when the love of your life confesses that your daughter isn’t yours? That is exactly what Elliot Fitch’s wife Karen did on her deathbed. How could she do this to him? A year later Elliot is hating Karen and life has no meaning. He is consumed with his hatred for her that he has stopped living. When finds out that his 16 year old daughter Elena is pregnant, he begins to search for her biological father. During his journey he meets Veronica. She is beautiful, funny, smart, and wants to help him. Together they search for possible candidates but end up uncovering a lot more.

Once I began this story it took me on an emotional up and down ride. I could feel Elliot’s pain and heartache. The author did an excellent job of conveying his feelings and thoughts. I really loved Veronica's character. Although when I got to the end I couldn’t help but feel anger but I won’t give anything away. This is a great story about a man and his journey to heal. I give this 4 stars

This book made me angry from the get go. What kind of woman tells her husband on her death bed that he's not the father of their child?! Wow! But don't freak out! It gets so much better! Poor Elliot goes into a downward spiral for a year while he tries to sort this out. He loses touch with his daughter who becomes pregnant and then tries to find her real daddy! Talk about drama. At least he meets a woman who knocks some sense into him. I'm so glad the book ended the way it did. Not only did the reader get closure but so did Elliot!

I believe that this one is his best work so far. I absolutely loved it! The story was well written and kept me interested throughout the whole book.
There were some very funny parts that had me laughing out loud and I would not have expected any different from this author, he makes me laugh all the time with all of his stories. Although it had quite a few emotional parts I did not cry, but I'm sure many have and plenty more will. I really like how the author combines all these emotions into one story.
I really liked all the characters, specially Elliot. He was just your normal guy that is going through a very rough time after losing his wife and learning some very surprising news. He has a teen daughter that was quite something else. The other important character that I liked was Veronica, she was cool and I'm happy about how things ended up with her and Elliot.
The story has a HEA.
Recommended to everyone. This one is a must read.
