Man and Superman: The Deluxe Edition by Marv Wolfman

Mucho ruido y pocas nueces.

Loved this. The background politics, Clark's turmoil about how to be a good hero, Lois, everything was great.

One of the few modern Superman comics I've read but I loved this so much. Exactly what a modern day Superman should be.

This is the single best Superman story I have read in a long time. Too long. Far too long.

Marv Wolfman understands Lois. He understands Clark. He understands Lex Luthor. He groks the whole Superman family.

People often wonder why I love Superman more than Batman. It is not that I dislike Batman; I just like Superman more.

People wonder why I adore Lois Lane.

It is because of stories like this.

A Superman origin story but not in the way we know it. This is following Clark in his first days in the big bold city of Metropolis. Where he has to decide is he just going to be a man or a hero.
Marv Wolf nailes the tone for Superman and Claudio Castellini art is phenomenal, certain panels you would Steel straight away for a movie.
Easily one of Superman best story's bit of a hidden gem. Just a shame its a bit short.

Well done, good ideas, but not ground-breaking. Not keen on the way Lois Lane was drawn.

This is a Clark Kent moves to Metropolis and finds his footing, full of warmth and love for the character.

I was looking forward this, but the wait was better than the story.

First, it feels overwritten. I think you could tell the same story with half the text. Also, the story has been told. There's nothing new here and it feels it's age. Finally, let's move past Dick Donner's Superman. Constant illusions to those movies only feel like baggage at this point.

My advice is to skip this. If you want a nostalgic throwback, Superman Secret Origin is a lot more fun.
