There’s nothing “horror” about this little novel. It’s definitely just more of a strange fantasy. It has some disparate themes that don’t necessarily tie together nor reach a solid conclusion, which leaves it a little meandering and almost surreal. Not the most entertaining release of the year but at least it wasn’t a 1000-page brick. I loved that it was a lightweight volume, but oddly enough it left me feeling as if it wasn’t completely fleshed out. Oh well. Still looking for the happy medium.

The rating is for 'Elevation' - there's a short story, 'Laurie,' on it too which was better, 3.5 stars.

What an excellent and short read. Elevation was such an odd and interesting premise. Laurie was sweet and wholesome.

Favorite quote: “Should I pack a bag for this guilt trip?”
