Possibly my favorite of the series. Usually when mmcs are supposed to be “broody” it lasts like 5 minutes but Wilder Abbott is BROODY through the whole book. Iris is a strong fmc and the plot was interesting in this one. Sad to leave Calamity.

more like a 3.75!

This is the mark of an amazing writer: I am on page 6 and I am completely invested in the story, in Iris, in Wilder, in Amie (what happened to her??). I love it when a book hooks me so quickly and completely.

Update after reading:
I love every single thing about this book.
This is Devney Perry's best book yet.
It is perfection!
It builds on prior characters and what we know of Wilder from previous books. He is an adorably broody character and Iris complements him perfectly. They are absolutely perfect together.

I love this book so much!
