I think I had higher hopes for this one, but it felt a little off. Lots of waffling between being super horny about one another and not wanting to really communicate about anything. The seeming lack of communication from Wilder drove me nuts. The age gap and brother's best friend were fine. The way Iris' family was handled, I didn't love. The deceased wife backstory was just fine- when the truth came out about their relationship, it didn't really surprise me I think the way it was intended to. Overall, not bad but definitely not my favorite.

Only 3.5 stars for me.
I’m gonna have to start keeping a tally of how many times the sentence structure “Fuck, but…” is used in DP’s books.

This was not a bad read, but I cannot say it was a favorite either. I missed seeing all the previous couples and the small town vibe of Calamity was less prevalent. It was sexy, but the chemistry/buildup was lacking.

wow I’m so obsessed with this story. iris and wilder genuinely had me feeling every emotion, the way i laughed and cried and swooned through this book is crazy.
adore iris and her story, it can be so scary to chase a dream and feel like you don’t fit and her story was told so beautifully. i loved her arc of wanting to put down roots it didn’t feel rushed or just because of wilder.
wilder has me in an actual chokehold WOW!!! so many moments had my heart breaking for him and the guilt he carried for so long, honestly not where i saw his story going at all. loved his little jealous moments but it never felt toxic, just so good.
the way these two love each other is just my kind of love. it is in asking questions, and pushing past comfort zones, and being willing to walk through the hard times. wow i loved this book and this series, i’m sobbing.

Because this woman was an enigma, and I’d always had a thing for puzzles.
I quite enjoyed Wilder and Iris's story. The best friend's little sister is always a great trope - it has the sense of the forbidden without straying into the taboo and it is also interesting seeing the characters learn new things about the other (especially the it has been a while since they've had contact - like Wilder and Iris. These two had a bit of a slow burn but when they did come together, the chemistry was on fire. I enjoyed seeing Iris finally find a home in Wilder and Calamity - and I'm a little sad this series has come to an end.
