Ta historia jest naprawdę niepokojąca. Niektóre sceny zostały w mojej głowie na długo. Najciekawszymi są tutaj rozdziały 3 i 4. Wtedy już nie chciało mi się od niej odrywać. Jedyny minus to dialogi. Szczególnie w tych pierwszych rozdziałach. Wydawały mi się zbyt nierealne. Ludzie tak nie rozmawiają. Co do zakończenia to trochę mnie zaskoczyło. Co jest na plusie. Jedynie brakowało mi więcej emocji po całym rozwiązaniu akcji.

I made a decision at the start of the year to read and watch older, more "traditional" horror and I thought this would be a good place to start (yes, start, in June. it happens.). of course I'd heard about the "most controversial book ever written" and "one of the scariest books to keep you up at night". but none of that prepared me for the deep hurt in my heart I would feel from parts 2 to 4. it did keep me up at night, wondering about faith, and love, and duty, and love, and sadness, and the burdens we carry visibly or not, and love. there's a demon, and a possession, some priests, restraints, Holy Water, an exorcism. and there is a desperate love and unyielding sadness too. Ray Bradbury was right about this book. I wish I had read this earlier, maybe at the start of my own fall into perma-despair, but I think sometimes stories do really find you when you need them.
