I was not interested in the plot enough to keep going
3.5 stars. The apocalypse itself wasn’t terribly interesting, but the way these characters’ lives intertwined both before and after the pandemic made for an engaging read

This book was good. I enjoyed listening to the different timelines and appreciated how it followed characters. It’s not a five star for me but it was definitely worth the read. I wish I had paid a bit more attention to catch any foreshadowing! I got SO invested in Jeevan’s story at first though it distracted me when we switched to a new timeline/storyline.
It reminded me of lost or something. Sometimes you’d have people do a supercut but it would be in the proper timeline order.
I love a good end of the world story.

I guess I’m just not a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction. I found this difficult to read. There were moments of beauty and sort of an ethereal feel to the prose that I enjoyed, but the constant trauma was too much for me. I’d love a story like this that didn’t involve people constantly murdering each other.

Really this is more 4.5 stars. An excellent premise in an immediately post-fall of society world that foregrounds the ever-present, perhaps most human thing that humans could do: make and delight in art. Reading this post-COVID-19 shutdowns made reading section seven a hard-hitting experience that I appreciated.
