[Review of the Clocktaur War duology]

These two books, Clockwork Boys and Wonder Engine, have possibly been some of the most entertaining and engaging reads this year so far!

As always, [a:T. Kingfisher|7367300|T. Kingfisher|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1642281799p2/7367300.jpg] does not disappoint - introducing this fantastic world, with which I'm already so familiar, for the first time with her particular style and hilarity. For someone who's a stickler for chronology, it's kind of funny that I ended up reading the 'origin story' after Swordheart and all the Paladin books, but happily it did not take away much from the experience. (Actually it's making me want to reread those...)

The worldbuilding is great as usual, its religious system is wonderfully innovative (I have a thing for witty representation of faith and religion). Thankfully, the plot doesn't take itself too seriously while the sheer amount of snark is simply amazing, compounded with some rather creepy shit, and a healthy dose of extremely relatable existential crisis of multiple characters. And of course, her writing is hilarious!

I do hope her upcoming works are available soon, because I'm rapidly running out of T Kingfisher books to read, which just won't do.
