Just Murdered by Katherine Kovacic is the first is the new Ms. Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries series and based off of the Australian TV series of the same name. When Peregrine Fisher receives a letter about her mother’s inheritance, she makes her way to the Adventuresses’ Club of the Anitpodes to figure out what it is all about. When she arrives she is faced with a murder and decides to throw herself into the investigation and search out the killer.

Let me start by saying I had never heard of the TV show this book is based on or knew anything about it. I found this to be a quick and fun read as we follow along with Peregrine’s crazy antics as she uncovers the killer. There was a lot of setting the scene and letting the reader know what the Adventuresses’ Club was, and I think this was done well and it made me intrigued to learn more about the group. I found the characters to be interesting and I really did enjoy Peregrine and her schemes undercover the killer. Overall, this was an entertaining read and I’m interested to see what else is to come in this series. If you are a cozy mystery fan looking for a fun read full of antics, this book is worth a try!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an audiobook copy of this book!

Thank you Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for the e-ARC of the book.

Just Murdered is a cozy mystery that takes place in 1960s. The story starts with Peregrine Fisher looking for the Adventuress Club to claim her inheritance that is left to her from her missing aunt Phryne Fisher. Soon after, one of the members of the club is becoming a suspect in a murder case. Peregrine decides to help her new friend and solve the mystery. After all, it would be just what her aunt would do.

The book is easy to read, with a tactful mix of humor, fashion and adventures.

Thank you, Netgalley, for the ARC!

I needed a murder mystery kind of book after not having a good book in so long. I’m still waiting for that 5-star read, but I enjoyed listening to this mystery. I’m always skeptical of reading timepieces solely because of preference, but this one didn’t bother me because (with some details changed), it could’ve been contemporary. I would definitely reread this one and, hopefully, have better things to say about it :)

After inheriting her aunt’s Melbourne estate, Peregrine Fisher decides to follow in her aunt’s footsteps and try to solve the murders revolving around a bridal show at a department store. Can Peregrine find the killer by bugging the handsome detective and working together? I thought was a fun cozy read and made me want to start rewatching the show from the beginning!

A predictable and boring cozy. I’m not quite sure why I stuck it out- maybe I needed a palate cleanser.

When Peregrine Fisher, received a mysterious summons to Melbourne her life is flipped right on its axis. Her aunt is missing, she has inherited her house, her car and has the chance to earn her seat with Adventuresses' Club of the Antipodes. Full of murder, mystery and sleuthing ‘Just Murdered’ is packed with twists and turns you will never see coming!
This was such a solid start to the Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries and I cannot wait to see what Katherine Kovacic has in store for Peregrine next!

Thank you to NetGalley for the complimentary copy in exchange for my honest review.
