The bond I have with this story is unholy, I would rip my own organs out of my body and feed them to rabid hyenas if that what it would take for this man to be my husband

Me reí mucho con el libro y me sentí muy identificada en algunas partes. Medios factos que me mando
This book came as a pleasant surprise, I didn't knew it was about Chelsea whom with Elec had broken up to be with Greta in the previous book.
So Chelsea was dealing with the break up (badly) when Damien came in her life. He was the next door neighbor with the too loud dogs ( whom with all she'll come to love).
Their attraction was instant but Damien wanted them to be just friends. She thought, he didn't find her attractive until that kiss... Where he found out he did found her attractive, a lot...
But he couldn't be with her because of a medical condition, about which she founds out later.
Shit happens, but after handling them all, they'll be together.
He never thought he'll father a child... Until ( yes !) That came too😍

“It’s hard to believe that this time last year, I didn’t even know who Chelsea Jameson was. Now, I don’t even know who I am without you.”
I had an overall good time reading Neighbor Dearest though I cannot say that the experience wasn’t entirely pleasant. Indeed, there’s some sort of imbalance between the first half and the second half of the book.
In the first half, it’s all fun and juicy as we meet the main characters: Chelsea, this awkward down-to-earth woman who’s recovering from a long-term relationship that ended suddenly and her hot neighbor Damien, or “angry artist”, who’s quite mysterious, selfless but also alpha-male-ish at times. They are both likeable characters despite them being annoying sometimes, to me at least, at some point in the book concerning how they were dealing with their relationship. Their relationship is mostly a slow burn friends to lovers type that honestly drags on due to the overload of angst. The mutual pining takes time and that can be frustrating to read, especially since they don’t get together for “reasons” we don’t get to know until the halfway point of the book. Adding to that, that it gets repetitive and boring too, because Chelsea feels like she needs to get over Damien since she cannot be with him but she also is so attached to him that she cannot get over him so it’s like a vicious cycle that isn’t that entertaining to read.
The second half however, gets more serious as we learn Damien’s “reasons.” It completely contrasts with the first half, especially since the couple finally gets together so it has sex scenes (not enough for my taste though) when the first half didn’t. The characters also refer to religion and to God a lot in that second half when their beliefs were absent in the beginning. All that to say that there is a clear change of tone that was really odd and that happened so suddenly I was not expecting it.
I still had a good time and still rooted for Chelsea and Damien. This was fun and it had a bunch of funny scenes or running jokes throughout that were great to read. Ward’s writing is quite average though but it’s nice to shut off your brain sometimes and mindlessly read fun, kind of dumb clichéd okay reads like this one.
I thought it was enjoyable but it got boring at parts but ultimately a good read
4 1/2 stars
Damian and his dogs together were my favorite part of the book. I am a sucker for a guy and his dog. Chelsea was the sweet girl who worked at giving back to community center. (this was a huge part in the beginning but to me disappears towards the end).
Loved their friendship to lovers story and how they became each others unicorn.

Probably the best book of the year. I don't care if this is like, the third time I've said it since the beginning of summer. This book is truly one of a kind. I devoured it in 24 hours and still feel like I've lived a whole life in this short time.
Oh, Damien... *Sighs contentedly*. I'm still waiting for the moment I'll realize he's not real and that my neighbor is actually a cranky divorcee with a chiuaua and thirty years on me. Life is cruel... aaaand I'm rambling again. Better stop before something utterly embarrassing comes out.
So, I gathered my thoughts and have put enough distance between me and my feelings to write something more constructive than I <3 Damien!!!!!!!!111!!!1! Hahah, who am I kidding? I'm still fangirling like a Twihard stuck in an elevator with Robert Pattinson.
Okay, now right to the story. Chelsea has been dumped by her live-in, thought-it-was-the-one, and now very-ex-boyfriend. While wallowing in the pit of despair, she meets Damien, her neighbor, and graffiti Artist that she will soon realize is also her landlord. Their relationship starts off rocky, but soon turns into one of the funniest and deepest friendships I've read so far.
But don't be mistaken, the attraction is right there and it gets addressed really quickly. What made the first half of the book so good was that even if for some reason that we do not know *for now* Damien is resisting the pull they have toward each other, they still interact, they fight, they get closer and closer yet. They confront each other, help each other. And lines get blurred. Chelsea doesn't understand why he's pushing her away and chalks it up to his not wanting to commit. Yet the glimpses Damiel lets her see tell a whole different story. He's the epitome of what Ryan Gosling's sweater is made of. (What with all the actors references tonight???)
Anyway, it's only after a few twists and turns that we finally understand what was going on. Believe me when I say that you will never see it coming. After that, the book's beauty really skyrocketed for me. What started as a light romance with a few angsty moments turned into an epic love story with serious issues, real threats, and feelings in such an abundance it felt painful to try to contain them.
I loved how I got to see their relationship grow, how every moment was so special and how they both cherished each one of them. It was one hot, loving ride. I loved both Chelsea and Damien, especially when together. Their chemistry was just perfect.
Oh, and the Double Ds, the two adorable Rottweilers that Damien shares with his ex. Yeah, awkward much. Even though I'm not an animal lover, they really added something to the story and I liked how they bonded with Chelsea. They were cute.
The ending was amazing, the perfect finish line for a story that started all right, progressed into "OMG, this is the best shit ever!!!" and eventually landed in "Please, gimme one more chapter, another epilogue. Anything!!! I'll take anything about these two!"
Side characters were also fine and it's clear there's going to be a story regarding certain actors...
So, I would recommend it to everyone with two eyes, a nose and a mouth. But if you have only one peeper and no breathers, that's okay too. This book should be on everybody's TBR pile.
My heart was churned, uplifted, smashed and corroborated. It melted, squeezed, turned. This is one of those books that you want to re-read as soon as it's over because the mere thought of continuing your life without those characters kills you. It's one of those epic love stories that spans through more than a month or two. It's not a fling. It's one of those novels that give you the sensation of having known each character for ages and at the same time of having lived more than one life. All in the span of the few hours that it takes to read one book.
And this, people, this I call art.

This book gave me all the feels. The strong poignant portions that just made it feel so real....their love and struggle leaped off the pages. I enjoyed going through the push and pull angst filled words and actions. This book had it all. It burned hot and bright with so much tension. There was so much humor and laughter....and of course the tortured love hero. Can't forget that. I would definitely recommend this book!
