I absolutely loved this book! Lynn painter truly has done it again! This book has me wanting to read more second chances even though I normally do not enjoy them! Wes and Liz develop so much as characters and truly are one of my favorite book couples! This book did have a bit of excessive cursing but other than that it was amazing!!
I love how the book brings a more realistic and relatable side to Wes and Liz but the ending feels a bit rushed.

Mixed feelings with this one? I didn’t hate it at all, and I like when characters are flawed. Absolutely dig it when you see characters develop. The only issue is that we didn’t see the transformation. Liz is a COMPLETELY other person than in the first book. More like able in this book, sure, but nevertheless completely different from the first book. I liked having Wes’ pov in this one, but I feel like I was missing some depth to his character.
I didn’t mind the plot, but there’s just too many details and too much depth missing for it to get more than theee stars

I was really hoping for something différent out of this book … I loved the first one, and based on that and the description of this book I anticipated another book full of romcom worthy moments and charming Wesness. I felt the dual POVs was not the right choice, and I didn’t love Wes’ voice, it felt différent and harsher than thé first one. I guess you could blame it on his trauma, but I feel he lost à quintessential part of what made him so loveable. Maybe being in his head in this one humanize him too much for me. Also, I don’t think a great job was done of differentiating character’s dialogues from one another as they were in the first book. For example, Wes, Liz, and Helena all say “I swear to God” one or more times and it (and other phrases) felt not super generic and at times pretty cringe. I’ll definitely reread the first one, but probably not this one.
