This review might be really unpopular, but I really did try to give this book a chance. Kept reading hoping it would get better but it did not. I was mad at him (for obvious reasons) but also at her! They describe her as a really strong character but then she takes his abuse and keeps asking for more. This book angered me in ways I didn’t think I could get angry at a book. Don’t get me wrong, the book is well written and I actually enjoy bully romances but this went wayyy to far.
If zero starts was a real thing I would be giving it that.

Loved it! The H was awesome and the h was awesome and funny and perfectly secure in her self worth. My favorite dark romance.
This was the closest I’ve ever been to the perfect dark romance. The main leads were close in age, not some old guy bossing around someone young enough to be his kid. The male character was described as crazy and actually was, not just the author telling me how dark and psycho the person is, only to write them as a loving teddy bear. Everything about this book was perfection except one thing… the heroine has blond hair and blue eyes.
A blond hair, blue eyed heroine is my biggest pet peeve. I’m tired tired tired of 90% of heroines having blond hair and blue eyes. When I think about how this book could have been the only book in history to become my perfect dark romance, how close it was but for the effing blond hair and blue eyes!!!!

I saw a girlie on TikTok recommend this book and it had like 50K likes so I kind of went in blind but as a person who strictly reads gay romance, I have one question for the straights… are y’all good?

⭐️ 3.5 stars ⭐️ for Untouchable. I don’t really know how to review this book lmao. I hated Carter until about like 60%……. Then somehow I started to like him? Crazy stuff. I liked Zoey overall too. They really did make a perfect match and somehow I’m happy that they ended up together.
Oh and what’s up with restaurant guy?? Like why can’t we know his name? Why did Zoey already dislike him so much? And why wasn’t Carter all possessive of her in front of him? He said some vulgar things to her and obviously checked her out and Carter didn’t say anything? Idk that was odd to me. I’ve been trying to figure that one out and it’s bothering me.
Anyway, as far as dark romances go, this was a decent one. But please read with caution and check TW beforehand!

Angst and twisted darkness create a romance that knows no bounds.

I never would have read this one if it hadn't been for my book bff Robyn. She knows I'm not much into High school/NA, but once she started talking about it, I knew I had to give it a try.
Yes, it's infuriating and wrong. All the wrong things. But.....I ended up liking it. I do think Carter redeemed himself (mostly). I did have an issue with Zoey speaking and acting way older than her 18 years. She psychoanalyzed Carter from the beginning. This is NOT normal high school girl behavior. Anyway, the ending was sweet : ) Might have to read more from this author in the future.

I found this book to be a little underwhelming. It starts off very dark and very twisted. And our male main character stays kind of twisted throughout the entire book.
I will say that his deviousness and arrogance charmed me up to him a bit throughout the story, and learning more about his background was very interesting. The steamy scenes ranged from disturbing to upsetting to really hot. My biggest issue with this book was the female main character, who just seemed kind of dumb for someone who was supposedly at the top of her class. She's strong, and she seems level-headed, but she rationalizes the heroes behavior and repeatedly puts herself in situations she could have avoided. She knows that what he's doing is not okay, but she still keeps going back to let him do it again. She didn't learn anything throughout the entire book, and honestly, neither did he. There's no growth from either character, and my frustration with Zoey just outweighed any good that there was from the writing and storyline.
And then the ending was so cute and sweet, which did not fit with the rest of this book. The ending read like it belonged to a romantic comedy, not a dark bully romance. I just don't think this is the book or characters for me.
