Todo este libro fue una red flag pero como me gustó como terminó, estuvo entretenido y la protagonista no fue tan tonta o una doormat todo el tiempo, así que me gusto la dinámica de la relación de ambos.

For me, a romance book like this has to deliver at least (if not all) 1. good sex scenes, 2. sexy tension, banter, and yearning, 3. loveable and captivating romance.
This book didn't deliver fully on any. We get some of #2, but the characters didn't feel real. Choices made (often complete 180s) didn't make sense or happened way too quickly. We get lots of spice, but most the scenes were boring. They relied on the consensual play aspects to add any level of excitement. #3 doesn't happen. There is "romance," but way too underdeveloped and unbelievable.
Honestly disappointed! Also, I'm tired of the ex girlfriend/mean girl trope that is used to drive the barely there plot line. It's in so so many of these books. Check trigger warnings!

This book was not as dark as I had expected it to be. Its marketed to be some kind of incredibly dark book with an unredeemable hero (which I guess Carter still is) but for some reason it just wasn’t as dark as I expected, I don’t know how else to explain it. Like, apart from Carter literally not being able to take “no” for an answer EVER, he wasn’t that bad. Or maybe I’ve just read way to many fucked up books at this point that I’m kind of desensitized to it now, which is probably the case. Btw, what I’m saying is that he wasn’t that bad for a dark romance book boyfriend because if I met someone like him in real life I’d definitely run and never look back, just to clear that up. Also, it wasn’t really a bully romance, which is what it’s also marketed as. I don’t feel like Carter ever really bullied Zoey, he was more so just an asshole. She was getting a bit bullied in the beginning but I feel like most of that wasn’t even being done by Carter, which would in my opinion have to be a requirement for something to be considered a bully romance.
Now that that’s settled, I actually did still really enjoy this book. It wasn’t that special to me but it was definitely a fun and entertaining read. Zoey was a badass and Carter was, well, something, I guess. I did really like them together and Carter was honestly damn lucky that he found Zoey because otherwise he would already be in prison. They were quite cute together at the end though, and they were definitely perfect together.

I never thought I would like a high school bully romance
The journey of Carter is mind boggling! Amazing! So damn interesting.
Zoey speaks to my soul, specially with her curiosity towards Carter’s personality how he is/became a sociopath.
The only problem was the predictability. That is why I was going to give it 4 stars. But it has one of my favorite tropes that is rarely used, so 4,5 stars.

i knew he's gonna be horrible, but no retribution, no consequences, nothing...
Can't go past the 5%. Sorry. I can't love a H who does that.
But I think I will read another book from Sam Mariano because her writing is good.
