DNF!!!!! I dnf’d this book so hard. Honestly, if I could give this book less than 1 stars, I would. I don’t even have the words to describe how horrible this book was. This is a rapist and his victim gross love story and I am the idiot who didn’t read the “trigger warning”… like I thought it was cause she would experience something horrible and deal with but she fell for her something horrible
This book is nuts. So very conflicted. A true bully romance. Carter was hard to love and hate all at once. I can see why she fell for him. Filthy filthy man.
Ok, here's the thing. I'm pissed. Proper, unadulterated, pissed-off mood. I'm still screaming and lashing internally in frustration at this book. Now I understand why I stopped reading high-school romance!
And it's not just about the eye-rolling amount of petty drama, or the glaring stereotypes, or the amount of times immature people in that school mentioned 'whore', 'slut' or 'ho' to get at others (seriously, don't they have anything better?) but gawd! The sheer STUPIDITY of the main characters just... bloody... decimated... my... brain!

This was my first Sam Mariano book, and yeah… definitely not my last.
The level of uncomfortable I felt reading this? Exactly what I want to chase in her books from now on. It had me on edge the whole time, waiting for Carter to cross that final line into full-blown irredeemable territory. And it was fantastic.
Carter—manipulative, brilliant, emotionally wrecked, god complex, and zero moral compass. A complete menace.
Zoey—quick-witted, tough, sees right through people, just cynical enough to be wary but still stubbornly believes in the good.
They are so wrong for each other in a way that makes them absolutely perfect. I loved them. I hated them. But never in a way that made me want to stop reading. If you like your antiheroes alpha and trulymorally corrupt, Sam Mariano delivers.

This didn't feel like a bully romance. There wasn't a lot of bullying- it was resolved pretty quickly. It seemed more like it was about noncon fantasies and a dominant power dynamic.

New all time favorite book!!! I finally read this and I get it now. The hype? 100% deserved. This is one of the most intense, psychological, and morally twisted bully romances I’ve ever read. The power struggle between Zoey and Carter is wild—he’s calculated and terrifying, but she’s just as sharp, constantly working around him instead of just crumbling under his control. The tension is insane, and it’s single POV, which makes every moment feel even more unpredictable. And don’t even get me started on Carter—his sense of humor is so dark and messed up that I was simultaneously horrified and cackling. 💀
This book will not be for everyone—there are deeply unforgivable moments—but if you’re into manipulation, mind games, and a heroine who refuses to break, this is top-tier. 🖤✨
Untouchable is one of my favorite dark bully romances and that is completely due to the fascinating dynamic between Zoey and Carter. They have one of the darkest beginnings to any relationship I have ever read and due to that encounter I was completely enraptured with their story and curious where and how they could ever have an HEA.
Another aspect that always keeps me returning to this story is Carter Mahoney. He is one of the most complicated and interesting characters I have ever read and I was so captivated by his actions and relationship with Zoey. Together they spar with one another in such a unique way that I never really know how the other will respond. They keep one another on their toes, which makes for such an addictingly brilliant story.
Overall this is a dark entertaining story that is unorthodox in every possible way and I couldn't get enough of Zoey and Carter. They are perfect for one another and watching their relationship grow after their dark beginning is one of my favorite aspects of their story.
