Was fun. Got dark. Good characters. The beginning moved a little slow and end was a little rushed and felt almost disjointed with too many surprises squeezed in. Also felt a little like the author really struggled to make sure there were some lose threads for book 2. Oh yeah, there's a "mating bond"… lol, so don't take the book too seriously.

I usually try to stick with books, hoping they'll pick up, and while I managed to finish this one, it was definitely a struggle. I really liked the concept—a school filled with every kind of supernatural creature you can imagine is a fun idea. Unfortunately, the execution didn’t quite work for me. The plot was confusing from the start, with too much happening all at once, and it left me unsure of where the story was headed. Things didn’t really start to pick up until I was about 60% through, which made it hard to stay engaged. Sadly, this one just wasn’t a good fit for me.
