Is it bad that I kept zoning out while listening to this?

i definitely understand why little me didn’t like this book, but wow wow wow i have so many just highlighted sentences and paragraphs that feel like events that are actively going on and that is so terrifyinggg
reflective tense fast-paced

What's wild about this book is it was written in the 1950s and feels so close to being plausible, regardless of how much time has passed. I read it fifteen years ago and thought we were just around the corner from this being a reality... I'm glad the books are still here.

Would I recommend this book to people? Yes. It addresses the importance of individuality of thought, differing opinions and forming the values that define who we are. Without it? We're not at all different, just echoing whatever is force fed into us by those in power. It's an important book on censorship, brainwashing and controlling information that the people consume.

Now, is it a particularly enjoyable and engaging read? Ehhhh. I loved Clarisse's character the most, but wellll yeah. The last part of the book was a bit harder to get through I will not lie, but it's a good read nonetheless.
