I remember waiting months for the release of this book, and the reason for it was very simple: it mixed two things that I love, sapphic romance and tennis. However, I was very afraid of it not meeting my expectations, so it was a great surprise when, while reading, I noticed that it even exceeded them.
It had been a few months since I read a romance book and actually liked it, so it was amazing to read this one and see myself intrigued by the Luca and Juliette’s story as characters and their romance. I found the idea of mixing realism with magic (a modern world in which most people are born with the name of their soul mates tattooed on their wrist) very different and interesting, especially its importance for the unfolding of the story and the way the characters understood their feelings for each other. They matched together and not only because they were destined from birth.
There were some things that I didn't like so much, but not to the point of disturbing the reading experience. Overall, it was a good book to read and pass the time, and definitely one that I would recommend.

I love tennis so I obviously had to pick up this queer romance about two stars on the WTA tour who go from rivals to lovers over the course of a season! This was also a reminder I need to stop choosing books without reading the synopsis because it had a ✨magical✨ element in which people’s soulmate’s name appears on their wrist like a tattoo so these two are also fated mates (lol) and they know it! Personally I could have done without that but it was interesting and you might like it! You can pick it up and read it just in time for the U.S. Open!

Super cute rivals to lovers. Would have loved more about Luca’s family to really flesh her out as a character.

This was so GOOD!!! This is a sports romance + rivals to lovers + FATED MATES! Juliette Ricci comes from a family of tennis superstars, coached by her father for many years. Luca Kacic is “Lucky Luca” and the rising tennis star to beat. A rivalry between the two of them starts off with a sizzling tennis match, especially when they both realize they’re each other’s SOULMATES! Too bad they can’t get through a conversation without biting each other’s heads off.
This book is spicy and full of sapphic yearning! Also it is so good and sporty!
