Loved everything he covered in this book…especially “this is it”. A book to hold onto and revisit.

Parts of this were not great, and had my mind wandering, but there was also a lot of good stuff here. I read it for a meditation class at school, and it's definitely one I will keep and read parts of again in the future.

I was confused when he said that the goal has to be mindfulness / meditation in and of itself... but here are all the reasons why you should do it... but you shouldn't be invested in any outcome... but it's really great for you... Just the same, I found it useful and I'll try to take the tips into account, as well as read some other books by Kabat-Zinn.

One of the easiest to read books on meditation. Kabat-Zinn offers the easiest of techniques for exploring the depth of the mind - simply sit and observe the present moment. If need be, be aware of the breath. The book is very easy to read, with bite-sized chapters exploring various facets of the mindfulness/meditation journey. I've read a lot of books on yoga, meditation, and spirituality (hundreds!) and got a lot out of this one. It's nice to know that spiritual "work" can be so simple.

A teaspoon of usefulness buried in a pound of Eastern mysticism.
