This is the first book in the Lords of Avalon series. The story of Kerrigan and Seren is very well written (I didn't expect any less). I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

Picked this book up while looking for an Arthurian fantasy for the r/fantasy reading bingo. I saw that Sherrilyn Kenyon liked the book so it must be decent (little did I know Kinley MacGregor is the same person as Sherriyln Kenyon). Unlike Kenyon's other books, this series is lightly based on the legend of King Arthur. Yes, it's another romance with a moody male character and a strong-willed character. However, I enjoyed how the story is not centered around the sexual activities of the characters (which most romance novels like to do), and there is plenty of fighting actions (characteristic of Kenyon's writings). I may come back and revisit this series again in the near future.

Decided to read these before [b: Dragonbane|22719550|Dragonbane (Hellchaser, #7; Dark Hunter #24)|Sherrilyn Kenyon|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1413352467s/22719550.jpg|42248371] ... so glad I did.

I've been meaning to read her MacGregor books for a while, so this was a perfect opportunity. I'm so glad I did.

I really enjoyed this book. I always enjoy a Camelot setting, and this take is so very unique. Kerrigan is your typical anti-hero. After choosing darkness, it was so much fun to watch him interact with Seren's light.

Such a great love story. I'm a sucker for the alpha who fights tooth and nail against falling for the fair maiden. Blaise is terrific! I really adore that mandrake. Wonderful laugh-out-loud moments in this book. It reminded me of how much I enjoy the earlier Dark Hunter books.

I was a bit surprised how I connected more with the darker forces instead of the actual Lords of Avalon in this book. It'll be interesting to see how I feel after the next book.

I really enjoyed reading this book! It was a bit different than I was expecting, but still really good.

The characters were probably my favorite part of the novel. I absolutely loved Kerrigan, Seren, Blaise, and the funny gargoyles. They were interesting and well written characters! The gargoyles (Gar and Anir) and Blaise were hilarious and had some stellar lines. I really hope they’ll appear in later stories.

I also enjoyed the world Kenyon created, though there were some aspects that had me confused (hence the reason for my rating). The aspects that confused me were minor and didn’t detract from the awesomeness of the story.

I will read this again and many other works by Kenyon! She’s becoming one of my favorite authors.

It's been a long time, before today, since I've read this little treasure by Kinley MacGregor. I really enjoyed reentering the legend of King Arthur as reimagined by MacGregor.

Chocked full of the trademark sarcastic humor the Dark Hunter novels she writes as Sherrilyn Kenyon are known for, this action filled adventure is a page turner from beginning to end. Kerrigan has never known kindness, and when introduce he's naught but a product of the life he's known. That is until he meet Seren, the paragon of virtue he intends to use as a pawn in order to gain King Arthur's Round Table and eventually use to rule the mortal world. These two are about as unlikely a pair as you can get, but somehow they work.

The Lords of Avalon series definitely delves way more into fantasy than the novels she writes as Kenyon but I really loved it. And it's probably because I loved this book so much that my thoughts are all disjointed and cheerleaderish. That said the characters are great, endearing, funny tortured and the plot is intriguing. This isn't the King Arthur you learned about in high school, but nevertheless I definitely recommend venturing into the world of the Lords of Avalon.

3.5 stars. I read this once when it first came out and loved it then. My tastes have changed but I still enjoyed this book, it just isn’t my favorite by this author.
