Such an informative and captivating read. It’s based in research and years of experience that’s all wrapped into a beautiful book. It’s heartbreaking reading the client’s stories. This is a book I will be re-reading throughout my career!

I understand the author is problematic. Which is unfortunate because I do think that this has merit. I do believe the body keeps the score and that it keeps the score for generations. However, I don't believe this is an excuse for any crimes or abuse committed. As sometimes feels to be implied here. I also was not a fan of the forgiveness? Of the shoulder that r*ped and killed women and children in Vietnam.
This is a very very very hard and heavy read. The material is very graphic and forced a lot of reflection and frequent breaks. It's not something I'd recommend to someone who has PTSD.
I see how it is helpful for people and was something I reflected on, but to me felt much too graphic for me to actually sit with the studies.
