I have never read the POV of the guy seeking to marry up for money. This was refreshing

I loved this entry in the Hazards of Dukes series. Book 3 was a bit of a let down but book 4 came back with vengeance. I love how strong Jane becomes and the storyline of a man needing to marry for money instead of the woman is a breath of fresh air. I also appreciated how much more sexually adventurous the characters are.

Sweet Story

This is such a sweet story! I loved the fact that the heroine refused to marry and defied her family while making her own way. The love story btwn Thomas and Jane built up great anticipation…and after reading the story you will know that Thomas loves anticipation! ;) The closure of the story was unconventional yet a delightful twist to traditional historical romances. I also loved Framptpn’s inclusion of racial diversity and LGBTQ characters. I definitely want to check out more of Frampton’s work.

Innocent Jane and fortune hunter Thomas make a deal: she'll find him a wealthy bride if he squires her about town and teaches her about intimacy. Thomas has no intention of taking advantage of his best friend's sister, but he agrees to help her learn about the world. The more time they spend together, the more their flirtation turns real. But he needs to marry money to save his family from ruin, and she's been disinherited. Can they find a way to be together?

This book has the spirited characters, sparkling dialogue, and spicy love scenes that the author is known for. Fun and flirty, it's a treat for readers of steamy Regency romance.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

2.5/5 This was a nice little reprieve from life, absolutely zero drama so although I enjoyed it, I wasn’t super invested. It was just cute and super low angst. I would add that I really don’t enjoy plots that are entirely based around familial duty, so that knocked my rating down from 3.

Gentleman Seeks Bride is the fourth book in the Hazards of Dukes series by Megan Frampton. The books in the series are fine for reading as stand-alone. The book was a little choppy in some places and had a lot of repetitions which slowed down the pacing.
The characters were likable, and it was great seeing Jane and Thomas grow together and begin to see beneath the surface of each other. I did enjoy the book although the flow was not very smooth, and I did get tired of the continual monolog of marrying for money. I do not think it is a book I would want to reread, though I do look forward to the next book in the series.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thomas Sharpe is handsome and the life of any party, and all he needs is a rich bride to secure his family's future. So when the also down on her luck and short in her pocketbook Lady Jane Capel catches his eye, and asks to be taught how to flirt and how to kiss, he shouldn't be feeling such sparks for someone he could never marry, especially since she's his friend's sister.

But Lady Jane is ever insistent, and they'll continue on with their romp as she also tries to find him a wealthy heiress. But, as their lessons turn into more than kissing, their hearts also get involved.

This was a lovely audiobook listen, great narrator. I was worried for their futures throughout, since both were so adamant about what they would and wouldn't want for their futures, but it all of course worked out in the end, perhaps a bit too neatly.

Thank you to Avon and HaperAudio for the ALC and eARC.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Thomas Sharpe is as handsome as he is broke (very), and needs to marry an heiress to save his family from poverty. He also happens to be best friends with Lady Jane Capel's brother, so when he sees her at a gaming club, he vows to protect her. Lady Jane was jilted two years ago and has been on the outskirts of society ever since; but no more! She wants to experience all the fun that her independence can offer, so she makes a deal with Thomas; she will help him secure a wealthy bride if he brings her to all the interesting places a single lady shouldn't go alone, and if he teaches her a bit about intimacy.

One partner teaching the other about romance while there is an ~insurmountable~ reason why they can't end up together, is one of my favorite tropes in regency romances and Frampton does it very well. Overall I liked the characters and the plot (I could have done without the brothel scene, but I get why it was there), and even though they were on the periphery, I liked that Frampton included some LGBTQ+ characters (would love to see their stories someday!)

Overall I would recommend this book and I'm excited to dig in to the rest of this series!

4.5 stars! A solid friends-to-lovers story and I like the "lessons" trope and sneaking around. I like the supporting characters, but I'm also a fan of angst which this doesn't have much of in terms of conflict! ALSO I LOVE THIS STUNNING COVER, that's what made me buy it and I'm glad I love the story too! If you liked THAT scene in Prince of Broadway by Joanna Shupe, I think you're going to be a fan of this book, it took a spicier turn than I expected and I already knew to expect heat from Frampton but this was a new creative twist.
