I will say along with shocking violence (I expected) I found an impressively gross, disgusting set of descriptions and imagery (less expected) so warning to those with weak stomachs. The book certainly accomplished what it set out to do/say and well, though no comment from me on those accomplishments. Again, the no talking thing.

i didn’t know if i’d like this independent of the cult following surrounding this book and movie. but it really surprised me. visceral read, loved the disjointed snapshot style of prose dumping me into different parts of time. to read this under a different lens would be a completely different reading experience.
