Felt unpolished. Typos were frequent, there was no depth to any characters or their interactions, and even the interesting things weren’t explored enough to make them meaningful.

Mum recommended this, really enjoyed it. Easy to read, completely action packed with a new disaster every other chapter. Good characters. Nice teen fiction. Interested where(when) on earth it will go next.

Enjoyable, headlong rush of a read. Especially apt for historians.
Nards.
I love Taylor's tongue-in-cheek sense of humour, but the messing with history stuff just drives me crazy. At times the writing was awesome, but then the character interactions were confusing and/ or unrealistic.
I think the idea behind this series is every true historian's [to be a tad crass] wet dream, but my disbelief is not to be suspended that high, I'm afraid!!
It's a fun "romp" as one reviewer said, and that's about it.
I would read other stuff from Taylor outside this series, however, as she has that good, dry, British humour.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tale of historians who go back to the past to observe and document... and who have a problem from the future to solve, as well. Fun, engaging, all the best things.
